In 2007 Nena Media and the developer Gorilla Systems approached game publisher THQ with some questions. Why are there so few sports titles out there that feature women? Wouldn’t it be great to showcase a sport that combines fashion, music and athletic ability? Cheerleading is a REAL sport that highlights strength, agility and teamwork and THQ greenlit All Star Cheer Squad I and II for the Wii and DS.
Nena Media was the acting producing partner on the project, securing the talents of top choreographer Tony G. (Bring it On), identifying and approving all voice and music talent, managing communications between the developer and publisher, as well as producing highly complex motion capture shoots with multiple cheerleaders, gymnasts and dancers. Nena Media supported THQ’s marketing efforts and worked to make the game a success.
